Costume from Gilda- material question

I recently watched Gilda, again, and though I love all Rita Hayworth's costumes, there is one in particular I would like your opinion on. I'm in need of some loungewear and in one scene Gilda wears something that strikes me as both pretty and practical in that aspect.

I especially like the neckline! But I'm stumped on the fabric! Given that Gilda is such pampered creature, I suppose she could very well lounge around in silk and I think it may be that material. Any other ideas? For me I would need to make it out of something that is easily washed, but I'm curious anyway.

Not specifically on that robe, but why can't you get gorgeous dressing gowns any more? I've seen pictures from the 50s of the most wonderful full-skirted, tailored robes that I would absolutely adore.

It looks like a very soft wool or cashmere to me, with a satin binding.

Puzzicato, I absolutely agree! I can never find anything I like.
