As usual I'm putting my jackets up for sale so can make more. This is my A-1 test jacket in 100% cotton twill. The lining is Kona cotton with twill arms. It has all the features of the classic A-1; wool knits and cuffs, 7 button front with nipple snaps on the bottom tabs, button front pockets, etc. I situated the pockets A-2 style, and double topstiched them. The waist and body seams are also double topstiched. 3-piece arms and 2-piece back, backing buttons on the main as per the originals.

The size is a true vintage 44L very trim and square with high narrow armholes. The fit is similar to a hunting shirt or dress shirt- in the pictures I am wearing a wool shirt and t-shirt under the A-1, and that is just about perfect.

This is a test jacket so there are some imperfections here and there- the buttonholes are my first attempt and could be better, and there are small place marks in a few places on the liner. None of these are very noticeable though, just the sort of thing us jacket nuts obsess about.

$90 plus shipping.
Cheers
Mark

Alas, not my size, but I'm keeping an eye out for when you start taking orders! Looks like it'd be a great jacket for those more clement months when it's too warm for leather...

Now that I have the 44 figured out my next two test jackets (leather) are going to be a 46 and 42, which will keep me on my 2 jackets a month schedule. The biggest problem I have is sourcing material. I've been looking for a good alpaca and cotton sateen for a long time but have not been able to find anything I like- not to mention goat or horsehide (or zippers, snaps, buttons, etc..). Just hard to source quality materials these days.
