Cleaning kid gloves?

Hi there,

I tried searching for an answer to this, and maybe I'm not entering the right search terms. If this has already been answered somewhere, please point me in the right direction!

I have multiple pairs of vintage gloves, of which several are kid and one I'm not sure of, it feels almost like suede. I adore how well they fit, and especially the litte buttons at the wrist. What I don't love is the smell and the ick factor. In particular the kid ones smell strongly of cigarettes.

Any ideas how I can clean them? I'm fairly confident with the fabric ones, but the kid/suede I'm really not sure what I can do without ruining them, and I'm not sure I trust the dry cleaner, either. Help, please!

.... but by all means, treat them with kid gloves!
