Classic Pattern?

Just picked this up on line for $45.

Its bespoke sportcoat from Maestro Prochilo, an Italian ex-pat now practicing his craft in the New Jersey.. Described as made in 1987, it is 100 percent cashmere and horn buttons; Sleeve cuffs have functioning buttonholes. Contoured with a slightly higher armhole; very soft shoulders with a slightly higher Roman inspired pitch, and again a soft shoulder with a gentle rope.

Obviously, it has a narrow lapels but does the houndstooth pattern say classic or (not in a good way) dated?

It really doesn't matter, in my view. I say let the weather be your guide. The Spring weather I deal with (NY-Chicago) can fluctuate between 40 °F and 80°F; I usually don't put away my Fall/Winter stuff until June. And, I have houndstooth jackets in different weights and fabrics, for use in all the seasons.
