Civilian or real? M422 - sold for peanuts if real

I missed buying this M422 -I lost my bottle at $300- to my untrained eye it looks like the real thing rather than a 'private purchase' any views from those who know?

Got the answer on VLJ - yes it was real - perhaps a late war ANJ3A (Andrew suggested). I'm consoling myself with the thought that the winning bidder would have gone much higher if I'd continued to bid and then the UK import duty VAT and Parcelforce handling fee would have been punishing.
