I wonder if there will be calls to ban Chihuahuas in the city now (the vicious little beasts! )...

FREMONT, California (Dec. 30) - A pack of angry Chihuahuas attacked a police officer who was escorting a teenager home following a traffic stop, authorities said.

The officer suffered minor injuries including bites to his ankle on Thursday when the five Chihuahuas escaped the 17-year-old boy's home and rushed the officer in the doorway, said Fremont detective Bill Veteran.

The teenager had been detained after the traffic incident, Veteran said.

The officer was treated at a local hospital and returned to work less than two hours later, Veteran said.

Wicked little critters...

I can believe this happened! One of my roommates (not Lauren!) had a Chihuahua here for 6-7 months. It liked no one but her. Luckily it was scared of Lauren & I (and we were always nice to it! Except we would yell at it whenever it [frequently] pooped on the carpet), but eventually it became aggressive towards my other roomie's friends, so she found it a new home (which wasn't hard to do because somehow there exists a big demand for Chihuahuas in this country). I will admit to meeting one or two nice ones in my life time, but overall, they are a breed I try not to associate with...

I had a little Chihuahua for 8 years. He was the cutest dog you have ever seen but, boy, was he fiesty. He loved me, but bit me from time to time and anyone else who tried to aggressively handle him.

I loved the little guy, but had to warn people away from wanting to grab him, he was so tiny and cute.

I read in a newspaper article that, pound-for-pound, Chihuahuas are the meanest dogs around.

Imagine if they were the size of pit bulls...

I nominate the Patterdale Terrier as bar none the nastiest, toughest, gamest dog on Earth (this is coming from a life long Pit Bull owner).
