Check out the new pin on my Campdraft,

RBH

it just arrived.

The pin on my Stratoliner is gold and has no letters on it. I believe it is the original style pin that came on the Stetson Stratoliners.

My new pin is silver and has 'TWA' on the wings. I believe this is a TWA service pin.

I think it really looks great! I did have a Stratoliner pin on my Campdraft, but there was something about the plane flying to the back of the hat that did not seem right.

not the best picture, but you get the idea.

What you've got there RBH, is a TWA (Trans Continental and Western Airlines), Douglas DC-3.

I wear a Lockheed L-049 'Constellation' on one of my Borso's. Howard Hughes helped to design the airplane with his planned take-over of TWA in mind. He then changed the name of the airline to Trans World Airlines - just so he wouldn't have to change the logo, the livery or the stationary!

What I see, although not the best picture, indicates four engines. That cannot be a DC-3 as they were only twin engine aircraft.

Yes it is the DC-3 pin, that was the pin that came on the Stetson Stratoliner.
The Stratoliner plane pin, bears no likeness to the pin that is in the Stratoliner ads.

The plane pin that had no markings was the one that was original to the Stratoliner hats.
The pin with TWA was a TWA Service pin.

jkingrph , the pin on my Campdraft and the original on my Stratoliner has only two engines.

Douglas DC-2, DC-3, twin engine. Douglas DC-4, DC-6, DC-7, four engines.
Boeing Stratoliner and Stratocruiser, four engines.
