Cheap horse(hide) running last Sunday

Hi all, just wanted to show this Canadian horse hide jacket I picked up on the cheap.
Bought from a dealer who was selling up, and when I say cheap, I mean cheap.
Black leather.
Other than the quilting, the jacket is in very good condition. All the zips work, there are no cuts or serious abrasions to the body or arms and no bald spots on the sheepskin liner or collar.
It looks a bit rough as it is a little dirty from being stored in a shed. Other than that I just wish it fitted me.
Size is around a 40 I am guessing as there is no size label and it's around 3 inches from closing on my fatty belly.
Label make reads Cambridge Toronto, horse hide. Though Front quarter is not mentioned it may indeed be as it is around as tough as old boots.
The zip is a CLIX which often appear on British jackets though this is about the size of an A2 Talon track and puller.
Hope you like, it may be for sale once cleaned up a bit
Im not too keen on the cuffs n buttons but they look ok, the little belt only goes to the sides, though I always think they look sloppy left undone, even on bike jackets.

Anyone got a date for it ? I understand the Dinerman is on a road trip.

Wow, it's really neat! Looks like a serious work jacket. Must we warm - is the shearling holding on? Canadian jackets don't pop up often and I'm always amazed how awesome they are. I've seen a few jackets from Canada with strictly British hardware (Clix, Newey, etc.) and have always wondered about that.

Thanks Ivan. Yes the whole jacket is great apart from the quilted section. I may have a go at fixing the kidney piece as to bother with getting it done professionally would probably cost about the same as what I think it is worth as a finished jacket. The inside arms are quilted and also a bit ragged but that is a little beyond my skills.

Nice. Reminds me a bit of the ThunderBay, based on a Canadian jacket.

Yeah, it would have to be replaced altogether... Shouldn't be too pricey, I think? And it might be worth it, the jacket appears perfectly wearable otherwise, it looks fantastic (leather looks just so right!) so you might wanna keep it?

That's very cool...I've seen a couple of these Canadian jackets pop up now and again but they aren't usually priced low. $250 and up from what I've seen.

This is all the labeling. Looks like an afterthought, Zipper pull is on left side.

My zipper pull is on the left hand side too. My cuff have the single angle and are button, a bit like Aero's Teamster. I see your waist is not as shot as mine but in a similar state.
