I been acquiring hats over the past 12 months and decided to move a couple on.
This Cavanagh Edge is one of the first hats I purchased about the turn of the century. I did not wear it often. It is a mid-weight felt with a light feel to it. The felt, sweat, and liner are all in crisp condition. There is one small soil spot on the crown hard to see unless examing the hat up close. I have not tried to remove it. The research I did on the fedora forum leads me to believe this particular Cavanagen was made after 1960 but while Cavangen was still producing high-quality hats. My conclusion is based on the lack of a date on the liner logo and the embroidery around the liner. I will also say from the hats I have handled, Cavanagh is in the same ledge as early Brosalilo. Snap brim. I wear the hat with the brim turned up. Could be worn open crown for a contemporary bowler look.
brim 2
crown 5.25
