Carhartt Hamilton Jacket Question

Hi,

Do these run large or right on? I am just under six feet two and 185 pounds - thinish. I usually wear a 42 jacket. My arms are longish, but regulars often fit unless the sleeves are of a shorter cut.

Any idea what size Hamilton I should get? I'm thinking a large... I don't want to swim in the thing.

Cheers

I don't have a Hamilton but a barn coat & a ranch jacket, both are Large. I am a dead on 44 with slightly longish arms too. With the Large, I have plenty of room to wear a Carhartt lined vest underneath. HTH
BTW, I am 5' 10" 200lbs, wear a 34" dress shirt. I have the wing span of a taller person.

I am 6', 185 (winter weight) with long arms--34" arms in a dress shirt (actually I buy a 35, and after 5 or 6 trips to the laundry, it shrinks to a 34). My normal coat size is 42.

My work coat closet has two Carhartts--Barn/Chore coat and one of their quilted insulated jackets with the knit wrists and waist bands. Both are X-Large regulars and there is plenty of room for a vest or a sweater.

I may have gone with the X-Large because I don't like a tight fitting jacket, especially something I wear around the farm. Or it may have been because of the extra length in the arms, or, more probably, because of both. It has been a number of years since I bought them and I just don't remember. For me both are are a good fit. I don't remember that the long sizes were available back when I got my Carhartts.

If you have a TSC in your area, there is usually a good selection of Carhartts.

Thanks Peacoat. I don't know what a TSC is - but I can tell you that Carhartt is almost unheard in this country. To get a Hamilton I will need to order from the USA.

Sorry. I didn't notice your location to see that you are close to New Zealand and the North Island! No, not many Tractor Supply Company stores or Carhartts down that way.

No problem, P. I just love American products. I wish I could get more of them over here. Sometimes the postage costs more than the item...

If you can get the item at low enough price, then the shipping cost is worth it:D . I just bought a new Carhartt Arctic Vest and including shipping it was still less than what I would have paid if I had walked into a store in the US. It pays to shop around.
