Can't stop thinking about it: Brown 3-piece Corduroy Suit

A few weeks ago (in fact, some emo kid probably already bought it, but I can't stop thinking about it), I encountered a brown corduroy 3-piece suit in a local thrift store.

Amazingly, it fit me quite well except one leg of the pants was an inch too short for me and the other leg was 2 inches too short. My wife persuaded me to put it back, because there was enough wear that the legs couldn't be let back out (cords were worn through along the hem).

However, since I've recently gotten back into cycling, I keep thinking that I should have bought it and turned it into a 3-piece corduroy bicycling suit with knickerbocker/plus-2 trousers.

Think I missed a bet, or was I right to leave it behind?

That's a tough one. I would have done the same thing that you did.. and then had the same second thought and regrets! We all need a good "the one that got away" story, and now you have yours. Anyway, a good story is easier on the pocketbook!
