I bought this jacket in October 2017 in celebration of my 65th birthday. I had longed for this jacket, but hard to find in a size 44. I like black A-2s and this one really grabbed me. I was wearing a Bill Kelso Monarch A-2 in Liberty Horsehide I bought near new a couple of years back. The Monarch was just a utility jacket, I just wore it.
The Liberty Horsehide develops wear pretty quickly and this jacket show it. I've documented the wear through my ownership in this album. The other jackets are original Monarchs.
