Buying a really short utility jacket

Hello-

I’ve always liked the idea of a really short utility jacket, but I’m not sure what I’m gaining/losing. Here's an example:

Would I have to have really long legs to make it work? Would my shirt always be showing? Would the wind blow up the jacket? Do I have to be built like a teenager to not look ridiculous?

It looks like most of the jackets on that site are made by Aero in Scotland.

You really need to try before you buy.
They all look good but the reality of actually wearing it can sometimes be a disappointment.

I like the shorter styles.

In many ways the true vintage look is based on short jackets. Most leathers jackets or denim jackets in the 30´s up until the 50´s were short to very short. Only a few styles were longer so if you are buying a vintage style jacket that should be short make sure it really isn´t longer than it should be.Otherwise you will loose that cool vintage look.
As for wind or cold I dont find it a problem with all my short jackets and I have a few gab jackets, leathers, military and denim jackets.

Remember, trousers were high-waisted back in the day- if they weren't, then the jackets would have been longer.

You need the high-waisted trousers to pull it off well.

Hmmm.

Given that I tend to have a longish trunk (i'm 74.5 in. tall, but I only have a 34 in. inseam) maybe I should reconsider the short jacket. :eusa_doh:
