Should a proper jacket for a business suit have right-angled corners, similar to its older counterpart, the frock coat, or should it have rounded, or even slanted, corners, similar to those found on sports coats, and cutaways?

Which corner style will enable one to project an image of a very prosperous proprietor of a very large bank, or a very successful industrialist, or a person of very substantial means?

A Fedora, a fob watch, a round knob cane, a white pocket square, a white carnation buotonniere and a Havana, in addition?

Are you describing the lapels for the style of jacket?

Peak lapels are considered more formal than the open notch type lapels in Tuxedos and I think it carries over to suits and separate coats or blazers.

Under suits you can find many entries on peak lapels.

best wishes

Oh, dear! No wonder Marc was having a good laugh.

My mistake for not pointing out that I was referring to the bottom corners of the single breasted lounge suit jacket.

I plan on bringing back the frock coat. Hat's are called costume by many... I bet you wear one.
Hats are just archaic, sadly so. The frock coat is dead, dead, dead, and has been for more than 60 years. Hats never went away.

Rather than try to resurrect the frock coat (which would be impossible) why not try to preserve tails and the monring coat, which are alive but on life support?

I'm planning to wear a morning coat in my wedding this December, and I wish I had an opportunity to wear tails.

It is a Chinese tradition to hold a wedding banquet on the night of the wedding.

Just hold a small wedding dinner for your close relatives and/or colleagues and/or friends; then you'll have the opportunity to wear tails.

During a Chinese wedding banquet held at night, it is customary for a Chinese bride to slip away every now and then to change and appear in yet another beautiful dress. The groom then has a corresponding opportunity to change from white tie to black tie to whatever he fancies throughout the night.

If the bride comes from another town, there is yet another opportunity to hold a return banquet in her town for her relatives and family acquiantances.
