Hi guys,

I have a bunch of *1940s* burlesque star Winnie Garrett's things on Ebay right now. I literally was in a friend's warehouse and found a box lying on the floor tipped over, and out spilled pieces of burlesque history. Many of the sequined and feathered pieces I've kept for myself, but I happlly post some photographs if anyone wants to see, truly inspiring outfits.

What I have for sale is some of her lingerie items, a few "costume-y" things
I'm still putting things up, and additional 20s,30s,40s vintage pieces
(but I keep goofing off here, posting on Fedora Lounge)

Ive also got some gorgeous higher end vintage pieces and vintage sewing patterns. (my mom recently scored me 120 1930s/40s sewing patterns at a flea market- all gorgeous and complete! (and it great sizes- vintage 16,18, 20, 22 (pretty much modern sizes 4-14)

My Ebay id is: missfernande

Here is a description of Winnie in ADAM magazine's "Stripdoms Sexiest Strippers!"
<<WINSOME WINNIE GARRETT of the flaming tresses is the stripper who captured the number seven spot. Winnie, who has been in the business longer than any other stripper picked as one of the nation's top ten, begins her strip slowly and seductively and winds up with a red-hot, slambang finish. She plays up her gorgeous hair by letting it down, rolls her net stockings down and then back up again as though absent-minded, and gyrates slowly all the while. Her extremely relaxed and confident manner of stripping comes, of course, from years of practice and she comes as close to perfection as any girl in the trade today.
Winnie has often used her reputation as a titillating teaser to promote charitable drives. She has willingly auctioned off her clothes (undergarments included) in return for $50 and $100 donations to the March of Dimes and other campaigns. And once the ravishing redhead starts to reveal her shapely body, the well-heeled men in the audience become very munificent, indeed.>>

thanks!

One of the pieces I'm keeping for myself is a Chantilly Lace robe that is adorned with amazing hand applied sequins- I can only imagine how these sequins- in a tone- I've never really seen before- (sort of clearish with reflecting crystals) must have looked under the lighting at Minsky's back in the day!

I did a little twirl in the robe for my husband and he was like "hey I like that!" and raised an eyebrow-

then I explain "oh I have to take this off right now, its far too valuable-"

he sort of snorted "you and your damn vintage clothes!"

ha ha ha. It was quite funny-
