Buco jacket — info needed!

Hey folks, a good friend of mine is considering selling his Buco d-pocket steerhide jacket, which he picked up in the early 1980s but never wears any more. It seems to be a J23 in steerhide, and the tag sez size 38. It's in really great condition, nowt missing / worn. In fact, apart from the size, it's identical to this one that sold on E*ay back in June:

Any idea what he could get for it, and when it was made? All help gratefully received!
