I contacted Brooks about dating these jackets and found some interesting information. I did not know that they are still in business and making this same style Jacket today known as 511.

I learned that they switched from gold and black label to the red and black label in 1978. To find a jacket in this larger size and complete with original pile lining is rare. Also, judging from the zippers, and my experience with the Gold and Black label jackets, I think that this one is very much like those earlier model.

I am curious if anyone knows anything about the modern Brooks Cafe Racers, they are not made in Detroit anymore
