British Fabrics - Ebay Store

A little while back, whilst searching for fabric on the 'bay, I came across a store called British Fabrics. I bought some fine woollen fabric from them, and thought I'd share the info with you all.

At any given time, they have in the vicinity of 450-500 bolts of fabric listed, so this is not an individual Ebay auction. The bolts I received from them were priced reasonably and of very high quality, loomed in Lancashire. They have tweeds, pinstripes, cashmeres, worsteds, and so on. The weight of the fabric is also listed in grams per square metre.

If you're looking for some fabric to have a suit made, they might well have something you'll like. Happy hunting!

I've had several people recommend British Fabrics and while the quality and prices are excellent, I need to handle fabric (preferably on the bolt) before I can commit to it.[huh]

I take your point - it is well made from experience I'm sure...I bought 4 meters of one of his cheaper linens and it was rather disappointing and then the sea post for GBP8 took three months. It is pot luck though he has some vinatge styles fabrics that are good value and intersting.

So far I've purchased two bolts of tweed fabric and on both occasions the fabric has been high quality and has worked out cheaper than ordering similar English fabric via my tailor. The parcels arrived within ten days each time.
