Bought a new leather jacket but its cut in a couple places. Should I return it or just accept its gonna see far worse eventually?

After some consulting with you fine folks I bought a new Schott 613sh and it arrived today. The fit is near perfect but there are a couple of cuts in the leather one is just below surface the other a little deeper. Should I chance returning it or just accept that it will probably see worse down the line and live with it. If it won’t lead to something worse or effect the longevity I’m more inclined to forget about it. What do you folks think? I have 30 days return window. Cheers!

Yeah, they are definitely cuts. If you fold the leather along it you can see it widen. They aren’t super deep but also something id rather not see on a brand new jacket. Thanks for the reassurance I thought I was just being a little too rigid in thinking it shouldnt be there. I understand scuffs and maybe a light scratch but these seem like made from a razor.

Thanks folks. Do you think they will comp the return label? I went ahead and reordered cause I’d rather not wait for the free exchange. Plus I’d love to wear my new jacket at an upcoming Gang of Four Concert I’m going to in about a week.

Obviously we don’t have the leather jacket and can’t see how deep the “cut” is. But if it’s just surface level, cutting into just the dye but not too deep in the leather, you can try emailing the vendor and ask for some discount, and keep it.

I received a brand-new Mister Freedom leather jacket at a discount price that has a similar “scratch”. Upon inspection, it looks like some of the top paint (dye) worn off, but mehh, I decided to live with it. A year later, the scratch blends in with the rest of the jacket, which has been substantially worn.
