The Alessandria

This is Miller's name for the Alessandria, a hat Borsalino has been making for at least 50 years (and probably much longer). As you can see, Miller gives it different names for different creases, and calls the open crown by the anglicized "Alexandria." If you can find a vintage one on ebay, it will probably set you back less, and if it is more than 20 years old, it is bound to be a much better hat. I have one and I really love it. The new felt can't really compare. If you are hesitant about a hat somebody else wore, send it to a master hatter to get cleaned and spruced up. It'll cost just $30-$40, and after a napatha path, it'll be clean as a whistle.

I can never seem to find a vintage borsalino in a 7 3/8. There is an Allesandria on there right now that looks dead-stock in a size 7.

about 2 years ago for $120 or so, 7 3/8. Patience will get you there.
