I've been talking with Juan over at WWII Impressions about his 10" Corcoranns. I'm pretty much settled on anything made at Cove Boots because they are located in my home state of PA.

Thing is, I'm wanting to run these as winter "slosh to the office" boots. They need to be all-day comfy, tolerate a few miles of walking, and fit thick wool socks.

I normally wear a 12.5, slightly wider than D width.

By comparison, I've got a pair of Doc Martens (uk made) that I've had for going on 10 years now. They just recently became comfortable, but before that they were too narrow and too tight. Size 12. I couldn't wear anything more than dress socks with them. Now broken in, they fit great (length wise) but they still won't fit insoles.

So, should I go to a wider size to fit big insoles in my boots? or will they still be too loose?

If youre looking for a slosh to work, I wouldnt recommend jumpboots. Being a former (like Marines there is no ex-paratroopers) paratrooper these boots even when heavily polished will leak like a seave. Not a bad boot, but there is a reason a lot of us limp around today!

I noticed WWII Impressions is carrying a EE width. I would recommed going with the 13D if you are slightly larger than a D. It would give you the extra room for the socks you wish to wear. Never buy boots or shoes too small thinking they will "stretch" out to give you a comfortable fit. They wont and you will have blisters from hedes.

Look around Cove makes them in wide widths. Do a search for Brown Jumpboots. I am sure you can find someone carrying the size and width you need.

Thanks
Greg
