I am putting myself on a hat budget. No more brown and gray fedoras.. unless I see something exceptional. :)

What I am looking for are interesting felt colors.
Here is a Knox "Flying Cloud" model.

The felt and liner are in perfect condition. The hat was never worn.

The crown is 5" bashed and the brim is 1 7/8". This a the shortest brim currently in my collection.

The flash makes the color look brighter than it actually is. The blue is a blue/gray shown in the 12-1 o'clock position in this chart.

That is a great color, nice hat.

In the book Sea Biscuit, Laura Hillnbrand describes the race track stands as being a sea of earth-toned fedoras. From the number of such colors seen today in the survivors, that must have been true. It's the interesting colors that are worth seeking out.
