another auction I won.

what do you think of this one?
date?

Lee Water Bloc Men's Vintage Black Fedora. It has a leather band inside and has no dry rot. Inside it reads Lee Fifth Avenue Water Bloc and on the band it has the same information and it also reads White Label. The owner of this hat owned a funeral Parlor in Cortland, NY called Bush's Funeral Home. It is stamped inside the hat, and also his name written in pen. WP Bush. The size is 7 1/8 and measures 24in. around 5 1/2inh. This hat feels like cashmire, but I can't be sure. The ribbon is black gross grain. In my opinion it appears to be in good condition, and it has been gently worn and I am including an old hat box. The Hat Box reads Penney's Marathon Men's Hats. The box shows use and age.

Well- It came today.
It's a 7-1/8, but it fits exactly like a 7-1/4; there's no pulling it down trying to make it fit. I don't think that Lees run all that large either, because my other lee (a 7-1/4) has the exact same fit as this hat.

Inside the hat, inked on the liner is the name W.P. Bush, and a stamp with the address of the Bush Funeral home.

As far as it being a "white label", in the label, there is a white square. The felt on the white label feels finer than that on my blue label.

In the ebay pictures, it looks quite grungy and beat up. I took a hat brush to it, and voila, it looks brand new. It was just very dusty, and had what looked like cat hair on it.

It's got a very tight center crease, and has pinches fore and aft. Both sets seem intentional, but I popped the back ones out. They just looked rather odd to me.

The hat fits my face better than my other homburg, and surprisingly even looks good with what I'm wearing now (a t-shirt and sweedish army surplus pants).

I'm quite happy with it, and I'm sold on the lee brand.
