Thank you Texas! Unforntanatly the dress is not in any publicity stills. I found a clip from the movie when she's wearing the dress but, I'm not that computer literate enough to stop it and get the picture(if thats how it done?).lol Oh well.

I got these off youtube. They're kinda blurry though. If you have the DVD, I think you can use screenhunter to capture the images.

You're welcome! Yes, that dress is super-sheer. You could always make it with a little thicker material, or wear a pretty slip :)

I have yet to see "The Good German". I loved this movie. And for once it was one WWII movie that my husband wanted to see that was'nt centered around battles. I loved the costumes(the clothing was most likely vintage though:rolleyes: ). I will have a photo posted of my version of her black sheer dress tommorow.I onlt have snaps to sew on! Yay!:D

That turned out well!

I saw this film last night on DVD. Not such a probable tale, but a visually interesting movie anyway. Great costumes. Van Houten wore a leather jacket that was fantastic.

The scatology (the filth LizzieMaine refers to) was a little over the top.

So now I have seen Atonement, Lust Caution and Black Book. :)

I just saw it last night and didn't like it. There was an almost believable story in there somewhere trying to get out, but Verhoeven's usual directorial overkill rendered it way too over the top to take seriously. Too long, too many unlikely coincidences, too many machine guns, too many gratuitous cringe-inducing shots (e.g., injections and surgery in giant closeups), not to mention a lot more explicit sex and violence than the story really required.

It certainly looked good in terms of costumes and sets, though.

Just got around to seeing this last night.
Not a bad film. The casting was well done. The music is extremely over dramatic. It cheapened the sentiment of the film.

I agree, the sets (I've walked trough them) looked great and the dressing and clothes looked fine.
Except perhaps the modern glass elevator on the platform of station Haarlem when the train arrives lol
But the subject is so close to me that I just got very annoyed with this 'cowboy vs indians' action movie that completely ignored history and common sense.
If anyone is interested in discussing this movie in depth and exploring all mistakes made, what to look for when you want to know what the war in Holland WASNT like, etc, come and join us here;
