This would be my second review on bill kelso durable one star
I have tried for a week
This time I try to make it brief, and I would use Real Mccoy Buco J-100 in same size 42 for comparison.
As usual, my opinion is highly subjective, like it or not please feel free to leave a comment.

hide quality
buco j-100 in shinki horsehide tea core, very shinny, excellent quality, high density, stretch most often appears in colar and sleeve. Mine has some on my left sleeve, as you can see in the pic. The back is large piece of full grain, high quality horsehide, likes water ripple on the lake.
As I choose for durable one star, only liberty horsehide left. The overall quality is high above average. Texture is clearly shown. The density is more even.

The zipper with adjustable cuffs
As you can see on the above picture, the leather jackets naturally placed on the bed. Only zipper on Buco j-100 could be seen, since the zipper was placed on the back of the hand. When you are typing or riding, the zipper is clearly shown and adjustable. While for durable one star, the zipper is slightly even backward, it was in the same position as your ulna. One would not usually spot the zipper as it is on opposite side of the arm, sometimes metal zipper would have contact with your joint.

the lengthes of the jackets are shown in the pics, no further comments then.

the sleeves of durable one star as I mentioned in the first review, is (60cm) shorter than other leather jackets (63-65cm), which would be more straightforward in the pics.
Durable one star has bi-swing back panel and underarm gussets for higher mobility.
Durable one star sleeve starts from thick tapering towards slim cuff. One with muscular arms would not feel uncomfortable feeling it. While the sleeve of buco j-100 is more straight cutting, I had a buco j-100 size 40 before, i feel very tight on my arms, absolutely terrible experience.

The lining.
The lining of buco j-100 was made in silk, very smooth and comfortable.
While the lining for durable one star is quadruple diamond quilted lining, and hem with black corduroy. And its sleeves were lined with black color heavy cotton drill. It feels rougher, improve wind-seal, and prevent your arms from slipping forward.

Overall, I think they have done great jobs. One of the most best cross zip leather jacket, suitable for different wearing styles
But i am rather picky on leather jackets, (if not I have already settled on my japanese leather jackets long time ago)
I think the sleeves of durable one star are quite short for me, it is a problem that I can hardly bear. Therefore, if anyone is interested in this leather jacket, or feel uncomfortable with the long sleeves and prefer shorter ones, feel free to contact me. I have tried it for a week, no scratches, detailed review in my two reviews.
Or if there is a 2nd hand market available, please feel free to leave a comment and tell me too. Thanks
I would continue my journey looking for the best fit leather jacket.

Really makes a strong case for Shinki, though BK has a beautiful interior.

Rainbow Country has an even better horsehide quality than RM, but lower budget. Rainbow country manufactures in same factory as Freewheelers, but they use close to perfect quality horsehide, while FW prefer horsehide with minor stretches

Shinki is an amazing leather, difficult to dislike it.

However, it is also very shiny when new and that’s not always a desirable characteristic imho.
