She was a firecracker even in her old age.
See her in any movie and you'll like her too.

You beat me to it! My heart sank when I read the news a little while ago. Hopefully TCM will rerun the interview she did in 2000 with Robert Osbourne. They ran it again just a few months ago. It was one of the hliarious and het heart-breaking interviews Osborne's ever done, and I think he mentioned it's the one they've gotten landslides more mail about than any other.

Funny, sexy, physical, musical, a sweetheart and and a decent actress on top of it all. There was nobody like her. She'll be missed.

My first introduction to Betty Hutton was in one of her first movies, _Star Spangled Rhythm_ an early war rah-rah musical/subtle studio satire employing everyone on the Paramount lot. She played Polly, a studio telephone operator, in love with a sailor, (played by Eddie Bracken), just home on leave. In the course of the movie, she goes up against Preston Sturges and Cecil B. DeMille - playing themselves, the human tar-babies, and studio executives. She acts refined and bashful, and also gets to belt out the number, "I'm Doing It For Defense" while bouncing on and off a jeep driving across country and underwater. She was a blonde tornado that swept through the entire movie. She even got to ask, "What's Hope without Crosby?"

Sweet Dreams, Betty.

She was fun! I was never a big fan of hers but every time I watch Annie Get Your Gun I enjoy it. By he way Judy Garland was the original choice to play Annie Oakley before she was fired and replaced by BH.
She was a great comedienne and will be missed.

Her friend/agent Mike just posted this. I'm going to try to attend. Teresa

Those of you who have known me for the past several years here on E-bay know that my partner and I have cared for Betty for years now here in Palm Springs. I have made many good friends here because of Betty Hutton! My partner, Carl Bruno has known Betty for 35 years and is the executor of her will. Betty was buried by us today in Palm Springs in a small, private service at the Palm Springs Memorial Park in Cathedral City according to her wishes. Please know that we appreciate all of your wonderful notes, letters and calls that have flooded in since the loss of Betty yesterday. There will be a memorial service at St. Teresa's Catholic Church in Palm Springs on Friday March 23rd. at 11:00AM. All are welcome! Thank you for your continued interest in Betty, a wonderful talent none of us shall ever forget! Mike
