Hi everyone. I'm kind of new to the world of vintage clothing and I have a pair of vintage dress pants that I like to wear with suspenders (button, of course), and they always feel great. Shirt stays in, pants stay up and I don't have to readjust them throughout the day. Suspenders are obviously the superior choice, I don't know why they're so rare now. Anyway, since they are dress pants made of non machine washable wool, I don't have the luxury of wearing them all the time.
So what I have been looking for have been a pair of casual pants that would be comfortable with suspenders. These would be of tough, probably cotton material that can be washed and take daily wear and tear. Right now, I usually wear dickies or blue jeans but lately I have gotten a pair of Ben Davis pants, original fit. Mine have a 12" rise, are in a wide cut and casual style and are fairly comfortable with suspenders (been field testing them with clip-ons at the moment). But they still aren't perfect.
Anyway, I was wondering about any other recommendations. Of course my problem is that most (nearly all?) modern pants are not designed to use suspenders and therefore be slightly uncomfortable with them. My vintage pants have a 14" rise and feel awesome with suspenders. I believe the cut is different on vintage pants as well. If anyone has a favorite brand of trousers for daily wear with suspenders, I would like to know what works. Thanks in advance.
