Lovely color and details - but not at all 1930s.

Very late 40's to 50's. The very deep-set buttons give away it's "Bold Look" provenance.

Thanks Fastuni. I'd noticed the button stance seemed low. Am i right in assuming that two breast pockets on a suit coat was uncommon for the Bold Look era? Interesting that a 40s/50s cusp suit would copy sport-suit detailing from two decades previous.

Double breast pockets can be found quite often on Bold Look sports suits.

Most of the typical (30's) sports detailing continued to be used... but what I would consider (relatively) rare for that era is the half belt, which was ubiquitous in the 1930's.

The jacket waist moved down and the nip to the waist was less pronounced. A belt doesn't really work here as it did with the 30's wasp-silhouette, as Damian commented.
