Behind the scenes look at Aero

I don't think anyone's posted this yet, a brief behind the scenes look at the Aero factory by my mate Olly Walker, who does a regular moto themed series of short videos called Blow Out the Cobwebs. In this one, about 7 minutes long, he visits the factory to get his jacket made. Includes a brief tour, including some face time with the famous Julie Leitch, maker of "about 15,000 jackets"!

The Aero Leather factory is bucket list stuff for sure. I'm already planting the seeds with my wife ...

I'd love to travel to Gala, get fitted for a custom Indian Ranger, and then get a tour of the factory while my jacket is made. And, of course, sample all of the local Scotch afterwards!

Very nicely made video there sir. I have shared this with some folks here in Iowa who have Cafe Racer intrests and, like myself, really want to get over to Scotland for a visit. I am so much more excited to do this now. Have a great week and keep up the great work!

Love that video...Really does make me want to plan a visit. Would be a real treat to meet the folks at Aero in person. Maybe I can somehow swing it when I take the wife and daughter to Paris. They can go check out the Eiffel tower while I go see the true work of art in Galashiels.

Not sure how much things have changed in the past 12 years, but when I backpacked through Europe flights between the mainland and the U.K. were dirt cheap (Ryanair <$100), although they were only one-way. It is possible, just sayin'.

I had a dream last night I took an impromptu flight to Scotland, visited Aero, then posted in this thread. I suppose the theory of dreams reflecting underlying life concerns holds true, given my waking hours are composed of contemplating jackets. I'm so very sick lol.

funny in the video Denny mentions tartan choice being largely an American preference.

Ryanair is still dirt cheap. Mainly because they treat the customer like dirt....

The only way to travel between the UK and anywhere North of Nice and West of Warsaw is the train. The chunnel takes you from central Paris to central London in two and a half hours; you only need to arrive an hour ahead of travel to go through security and customs, and (at least for now) once you hit the other side you're straight out, no need to stop. No weight restrictions, and you can even carry your own liquids. Vastly superior to the plane! Door to door, it's even faster than flying. I now fly as little as possible within Europe.

Thanks Edward...I'd prefer the train too as I really hate to fly and haven't been on a plane since I flew to Africa in 2010.

Haha, that’s the perfect description of the size difference between Europe and the USA (and an Americans view on it) - compared to the US it is so small that you can actually plan a Scotland trip while the rest of the family is visiting the Eifel tower [emoji28]
