Hello my fellow hat & cap wearers,
As some of you know, I enlisted into the U.S. Army, and now it is my time to head off to BCT.
Before I go, I just wanted to say thank you to everyone on these boards for sharing such a wealth of knowledge. I have really enjoyed looking through current, as well as archived threads, as each post holds new information to eat up. I have also thoroughly enjoyed speaking to many of you via PM's. Some of you have helped me through some harder moments in my life, whether you know it or not. I deeply thank you for that.
Alan, I greatly appreciate the information you have shared on the historic hats you have (and continue to) accumulate. Your collection is impressive. I truly wish Lily the best in her schooling, and I too wish you a great vintage hunt!
Robert, thank you for the aid you have given me in learning about vintage hats. I deeply appreciate that. I was super estatic to recieve my first velour, and cherish that lid daily. It is, and will be one of my favorites. I wish you the best in the times to come, and again, thank you!
Spencer, your knowledge of a multitude of items is amazing. From coats to shoes, ties to hats, you have it covered! Thank you for sharing the information, and for starting threads that are helpful, not just to me, but to anyone that takes the time to read what you have laid out for us to absorb. I truly hope your move comes together, and you enjoy your new place, and the places you will travel to as well!
Roy, where to begin. You are a kind hearted spirit, with whom I have had the greatest pleasure in talking with. Our conversations have brought many smiles to my face, when nothing else seemed to have the effect. I wish you well my friend, and hope to speak soon!
Charlie, your posts always make me laugh, with the copious photos you post in the 'What hat are you wearing today' threads. You always seem to lighten the day's mood, even for a moment! Don't ever lose that ability, sir!
Manfred, you are a wonderful person. From the compliments you give to each and every one hear, your spirit shows. Don't lose that, my friend. Also, while I am gone, you better find some awesome lids from those flea-markets you frequent so.
Che, you are a cool fella. I enjoyed when you made that youtube video for your caps. That was way too neat to see! Keep it up!!
Scott, your refurb work on hats is quickly evolving. Every one you post is better than the last. At your rate, you will be able to start making your own custom hats in the near future!!!! Keep up the great work!!!!!!
Bill, many thanks for the help on dating some vintage pieces. You aided in opening my eyes on what to look for, again, thank you!!
Josh, I appreciate you letting me take some beautiful lids off of your hats. I value them all. I also have to thank you for keeping up those 'block profile' threads. Hopefully one of us comes across some type of log-book or something... now wouldn't that be neat!?
Adam, your vintage collection grows and grows. Keep it up, my friend!
Damian, your collection is superb. I wish to have as much vintage items as you some day!
Richard, you have aquired quite the taste of hats. Keep up the good work!!
Garrett, you have some amazing hats. Your items never cease to amaze me. Simply stunning!
Baron, thank you for the help in dating some vintage clothing items I have come across. You have been a huge assistance to my learning. thank you!
Barry & Johnny, you two are some of the best cap makers I have seen. You are taking cap making to a new level. I wish both your business great success!!!
Well folks, I do apologise for anyone else I am leaving out. Time is short, so I am off to visit some family before I go. Thank you all again for aiding in making a simple stop into an exciting hobby!!
Until I return (hopefully around the December time-frame),
