The web sales site wot I got that piccy from states that the hat has a "Fedora style crown"

That could really put people off fedoras, and maybe no wonder why so many open crown fedoras on Ebay get called 'bowlers'...

Anyway, I don't have a Filson...nor do I look good in my Duluth Oilcloth Packer...if I did, I probably wouldn't put the "My other hat is a Fedora" bumper sticker on my truck when I wear it. But the Filson and Duluth seem fairly similar to my untrained peepers.

BUT, it is one freakin' comfortable hat.

So, long way to say "not me".

I never found Filson hats very comfortable. Especially when the sun comes out. Working in the woods every day, today I follow a different path.

I like the fur felt "travel hats" like the Italian-made Worth and Worth fedora shown. These are generally made soft sans liner, stiffeners and brim treatment with a grosgrain sweat band so they can be folded. For my purpose that means I can crush them beneath an oil cloth hood and rebash them when the downpour lets up.
