I have decided to sell a 1940 two panel Irvin from my collection. The fleece is a nice golden shade and the skin is the desirable chestnut shade with a lighter russet collar back. All the stitching is original and in tact. The double trunnion Dot zips work well and there are no missing teeth on the zip tracks. I have installed leather pullers on the zips. It has its original hanging chain. There is only limited wear to the fleece at the cuffs and hem. I am not sure of the maker, but it is well made with a high stitch count. I have reinforced a couple of small sections of wear to the skin from the inside with a sheepskin patch. It has been conditioned with Pecards.
Measurements: Piit to pit: 23.5", sleeve: 26" from shoulder to cuff, across shoulders: 19", down back from base of collar 24.5".
I am asking £475 plus shipping, which is a very fair price for an early Battle of Britain era Irvin.
