Barlesoni ?

so I received to nice felts yesterday one is a very nice Knox from the 1950s ... I think

and the other is a Barlesoni .... of which I have honestly never heard of

can anyone give me some background or history on this hat maker ?

any info is greatly appreciated

it is indeed a very nice hat .... the felt feels and looks really nice.... a little dusty but nice ... I sent them both off to my friend Kevin at Pork Pie Hatters in NYC to have them cleaned up and shaped up to wear

does that Knox look '50s to you ?

The easiest way is to look for the tag under the sweatband


If it lists the crown height (5 1/2 on this Knox), usually next to the size like this one, it's 50's. If there is no crown height listed it's 60's.
