anyone in a barbershop quartet? I am so I'm wondering if anyone else is I would love to see videos and pictures. Sadly my group doesn't have any.

I was in a female barbershop quartet and our group actually made it to the finals in a regional barbershop contest. But I didn't know how to sew, and couldn't afford for someone to make me the required costumes for the contests, so I had to drop out.

It was really cool while it lasted.

Sounds great! Hmm....wonder what you are going to wear? And where oh where could you possibly get inspiration for outfits for the group? Curious minds are wondering.

Aren't those the MST3K guys? Sure sounds like their mellifluous melodifications.
I never sang in a Barber Shop quartet, but I do love them. It's un-American not to, right? Every year Chautauqua Institution has a Barber Shop concert, with at least a dozen groups from the Alleghany region (NY, PA and Ohio) of SPEBSQSA * participating.
*Or whatever name they changed to. I spent years memorizing what those letters stood for, and they just threw the whole thing away. Dumb.
It's interesting to see where the aesthetic of these groups goes. Some are traditionalists, while others experiment. I tend to like the results of the traditionalists, but that's just me.

In college I belonged to Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia and we had a Barbershop Quartet. I sang baritone and a good friend of my was high tenor. Love the harmony!
