B3 Jacket Sheep Fur: Straight vs Curly

Hi

I am new to the B3 and I am planning to get one for this winter.
I have noticed one big thing that nobody talks about, and that's the characteristics of the fur. On some B3 jackets, I see that the fur has some sorts of curly and pebbly look. Some B3 jackets, however, have straight, soft and fine looking fur. I have attached some pictures in the link below.

The first pic is the one with curly fur. The second is the one with soft, straight fur.

Can anyone tell me how each feels on one's skin? Which kind of fur would feel more comfortable and softer? If you happen to have both, which one would you prefer?

Best regards and thanks in advance

The difference in terms of comfort and warmth is much of a muchness, in my experience. On looks alone, though, I prefer the curly.

Thanks for your reply. I really expected the straight fur to be much softer, due to appearance perhaps. But I guess appearance can be deceiving.

Doesn't the soft end up like the curly after some wear any way?
I'm not familiar with Aeros B-3s but my Irvin was softer when new, although not as much as the soft one pictured.
I prefer the curly as well.

I think if the soft is long enough, it will end up curly after wear, and getting wet.

@Shin, welcome to the board.

Thanks for the welcome
And I didn't know that! That's a pity because I like the straight fur better. However, I might be able to refute this claim that straight fur will get curly after sometimes. Take a look at this post here:

Scroll down for the pic from ties70. He claims it's an Aero Redskin, which is 15 years old. Look at the fur. It's perfectly straight. Not curly at all.

If I was pushed, I found the straight to be slightly less comfortable as it's a bit more bulky.

Any reason why you prefer the curly?
Also, see my previous post above. There is a picture of a B3 owner who has a 15 year old Aero Redskin with perfect straight fur.

Looks mainly.
I see that pic on the VLJ, all depends on the wear I suppose, that one doesn't look like the long fluffy version to me though, hides do vary over the years,
