As near as I can tell, original B-3s had horsehide facing along undersides of sleeves. Other than cost, is there any reason why [some] reproductions omit the facing?
In repros, pockets, patch pockets and zippered pockets are to make the jacket more versatile in a civilian setting. But if absolute period detail accuracy is important, than those features can be omitted.
