I got to go inside to look around.It's Really tight and small inside,you have to crawl in a few places.In the movies they look like they have lots of room.I'll scan some more pictures tonight and post them.I took these in the 80s with a film camera.

I've been in the movie "Mephis Belle" and it looks like most of the interior footage was shot in the area of the radio operator. It's the biggest interior part.

Texas Raider
I wasn't sure the above photo was going to show up since this is my first photo! It was taken between Eagle and Aspen Colorado around 1989. No, I was not using a telephoto lens! It was taken from the Astrodome, on my bosses Lockheed PV2D Harpoon, he was just that good at formation work. As a side note, Lefty Gardner was suppose to form up on us with his P-38 White Lightning, now owned by Red Bull. We had to wait a long time idling on the taxi way before take off, finally we took off, but no P-38, we later found out that the Line Boys had put JP-5 into the P-38, when he was about to take off, the Allison engines started to protest big time, so he taxied back to the ramp. The delay saved him from bailing out over the Rocky Mountains! Who said waiting is a bad thing.

I did get to tour one here in Cincinnati when the Confederate Air Force one visited every year for many years. I believe it is undergoing restoration. I would risk the certain divorce for a $500 trip up in it next time it comes. (I hope it does: a memory for a lifetime).

I forgot the best part of the photo! A year later. we were doing a show in Saltlake City, and Texas Raider was next to us. One of the ground crew came over to ask if we had any tools, one of their Studebaker engines were acting up, apparently the worst version of the Cyclone engines ever made! I grabbed our bag and went on a house call, I would like to say I fixed it but all I did was hand them wrenches. As I was leaving, they yelled out my name, I walked back and they asked if I would like a ride, you know the answer, they bumped a news person for me. I ran back to put the tools in the PV2. When i got back, I said where do you want me, they said go up front. The flight was pure heaven, but the highlight was when I was looking through the Nordon Bomb sight, we flew right over the railroad marshaling yard! Even though we were only at 1000' I had a chill go down my spine! I also got to tour Sentimental Journey, I tried to get in by swinging up through the front hatch, took three tries, I think they only did that in the movies! I am sure heads rolled for the P-38 Fueling. A side note on B-17s, we were in Denver for a show and there were two B-17 there. When the oil truck came by they asked how much oil we need, I said not much, about 15 gallons a side should do it. Their electric pump was broken as usual at air shows. He said with a shocked sound to his voice, Gallons? I said wait tell you do the B-17s, they are going to say, give us all the oil you've got. The next day he said they took over 100 gallons between the two! Remember, the our PV2 R2800 engines were acceptable up too 5 gallons an hour of oil per engine, the B-17 was probably similar, we were down to less then a gallon an hour per engine when my boss sold it!
