Pretty amazing! I remember, a guy that lived a few miles from me had some American halftracks, we drove by them every Sunday. Wonder what ever happened to them?

Cool, who wouldn't love commuting to work every day in a tank? :p
When I was very young, a friend of my dad's became the director of the county civil defense which had procured or been issued 2 DUKWs. I remember driving right down the beach and into the water in one once! They were very hard to maintain though, and my dad, who was a truck mechanic, was often consulted when the beasts broke down. I suppose that as they were made for the war, they really weren't made with longevity in mind.

Horace, I always fancied driving around in a kubelwagen but a tank would be good defence against white van man!

I would not mind a Schwimmwagen! Unfortunately, we only have one lake in out city where I could drive it. Surprisingly, a few months ago, we were riding through a small town called Sedalia, Colorado, population 211, and there turning in front of us was a WWII Ford GPA Seep. Unfortunately, non of my fellow riders wanted to follow him.
