Hey gang,

I was going to put these items on ebay after we bought a new digital camera, but I wanted to let some loungers have a crack at them first. I'll have them in the car this weekend at the Queen Mary so if you are interested please PM me and you can take a look at them, and maybe go home with some new stuff! Unfortunately I don't have a digital camera right now, so here are some brief descriptions:

10 1/2 Vintage florsheim spectators
Black and white suede
Condition is between good and excellent leaning more toward excellent. The suede could use some chalk, but the soles show that the shoes have seen very little use.
$95
They are similar to the shoes in the middle:

XL high end Repro 'Gab' sports shirt
Medium brown two flap pockets, long, wide and pointy 40's loop collar. The fabric is wool, but it's not really a gabardine. It's heavy and drapey nonetheless, just like an original 40's sport shirt.
$45

Single breasted peak lapel sports coat with patch pockets!
Vintage Blue Gabardine (1949 union tag)
single button closure (double sided buttons feature a french cuff like effect)
I flipped when I first saw this coat, total late '40s hepkat style! Alas it's too big for me (I will repost measurements and condition notes later this evening)
$75

Similar to this, but with a longer roll and patch pockets:

This post by Marc describes the coat fairly well.

With one exception: a particular "Bold Look" suit from the early '50s that was marketed toward the younger crowd. It was usually made of flannel or gabardine in solid colors, from royal blue to pastels. The jacket had very padded shoulders, a very low gorge, one or two front buttons that were often cloth-covered, and peak lapels. The trousers had a Hollywood waist, pleats, and were considerably pegged. Basically, it was a modified zoot suit, without the very long jacket length or the very high waist.

Wish I had a photo, but I don't. The picture below shows what this suit looks like, only with notch lapels. (Imagine the same suit with peak lapels, and you'll get the idea.)

These suits are (or at least were) fairly easy to find. I used to see them in vintage clothing stores on a regular basis.
