LL Bean does not seem to know much about their Moose River hat. Does anyone here know about it? Is there an equivalent model at Stetson? What is the felt made from? What are the dimensions? Sweat material? Any opinions?

Thanks.

It has changed over the years. I've had 2. One was kind of an Open Road/Stratoliner hat, and the other is a basic rabbit fur felt hat with a relatively low crown and a faux leather hat band I use as an outdoor hat/beater for working outside.

I'm sure there have been more changes since these two came out. No idea what they offer now.

As warmer weather approaches, I just bought the Henschel crushable Breezer with CoolMax sweatband. The brim materials are polyester, vs. the Henschel "Aussie" crushable which claims cotton. Both have the same material mesh for airflow.

Question- considering that the polyester is mostly the brim, should there be much difference in breathability between the Breezer and the cotton Aussie? I got the Breezer because of the CoolMax sweat band.

Overall, for $25 USD, the Breezer is a well made deal. But the Aussie is only $35, so an equally good deal. The Henschel rep couldn't tell me if there was an appreciable difference.

I have been looking for a good Sombrero Cordobés (like the one in Stefan's avatar), but all I find online seem low quality... Does anyone know of a place in Europe where I can buy one?

I don’t know if he has the right style or if the quality is what you want, but have you looked at Agnoulita? I’m not familiar with the specifications of the hat you’re after, but it looks like a bolero hat and if the hatter has blocks for a bolero perhaps they can also make your sombrero cordobés. Although not advertised much (not really his niche), Agnoulita can make hats from beaver. He’s also very fast for a custom hatter and he offers a wide variety of options. Maybe worth a look?
