For getting out or reducing the tobacco smell, try putting it in a box with a bunch of crumpled newspapers and sealing it for a few days. Sounds weird, but it has worked for me. If it's a light colored felt, be careful to not get the ink on it.

I’m an infrequent auditor. I’m normally just a government functionary toiling away behind the scenes. I’m not a universally loved figure...like a dentist.

My wife is a CPA and got out of auditing State Agencies back in the late 80s. She couldn't stand being the bad guy all the time.

When I show up at my own office I’m the laid back easygoing supervisor that all the guys feel at ease with. When I show up at any other office in my department I’m the heavy who signifies bad things are going down. I much prefer the former to the latter.
