They're probably doing some maintenance work on the server side of thing. That's why the browser side, which is ours, is experiencing delay and whatnot. But once the maintenance is done, expect normal or even better speed.

I recently got 2m of Harris Tweed fabric out of Vinted for a good price and now I'm thinking about using it to make me a jacket. I thought about making a Half Belt style and was wondering if the length I should go for is the same as for a leather jacket or should I go slightly longer?

do you experience thick vegtan belts curving after few months/ a year of frequent wear, I think it just molding better around natural waist, my 4mm vegtan belt is curving too. perhaps a stitching along the edges will hold the shape against that but function and fit wise curved belt fit fine too. they just look ugly on a hanger but I left them on my pants mostly.

All my belts curve eventually regardless of how thick or stitched they are. I think it's just how it goes after wearing them.

I'm thinking of trying Clyde's on my couch. I fixed the tear in the cushion with Weldwood contact cement and a piece of thick duck canvas. Now I want to fill in the gaps and refinish the cushions...
Can anyone tell of their experiences with the system?
Is it worth it?
Thank you

How do you guys list jackets for sale on the Japanese Yahoo auction? I've seen jackets listed here also listed on there. Is it through a vintage / dealer shop that has Japanese account? Anyone know one in Vancouver BC?

I would go the same length. From what I've seen and now with my experience of owning both, the lengths are similar so I wouldn't extend the length at all.

Hi, new to the forum :)

My question is: What do people mean when they talk about patterns in leather jackets? Is it referring to the design? If so, isn't that subjective, to some extent? I often hear people talk about Japanese brands that have "bad" patterns ...

Thanks in advance,
Livio

It is not just design. It's how the jacket fits/the shape of the jacket. Yes, that does affect the silhouette and how it looks. It also affects how the jacket feels on a person. It goes beyond just the basic p2p, shoulder, back length, and sleeve measurements... FAR beyond.

Thanks for the reply.

How can I tell whether a jacket has a good pattern? Do I just put it on and see if it fits me well? Whether it flatters me, and whether it's comfortable to wear?

I believe you need a Japanese bank account to list on Japanese Yahoo auctions. I was looking to sell through them before since my sizes would would have a much better chance of moving over there.

Yes. They all curve. That is why some heavy leather duty belts that are used to carry weapons, radios, etc have a steel strip sewn in to keep them in shape.

Yes. Comfortable to move in, etc. Well thought out and built jackets will work for more than just one body build. Last, the purpose of the jacket/pattern is important. I’m thinking MC gear. Some won’t feel or maybe look just right until you are in your riding position.

Lots of trial and error for the folks here. But we are a bit nuts. Some more than others. Most humans are good with a jacket in their numbered size and the right sleeve length. Nice and easy.
