Honestly, I am a huge fan of Artie and this really kills me fellas, wow, Artie, I thought he would live forever at times. He was a great musician and a great band leader, and will be missed sorely.

ditto. I fell through the floor when I read this. I've listened to Artie Shaw since childhood.

When I read this I had to post about it on my blog.

Now I'm knocking back a highball and listening to His records. Gloomy Sunday is on right now, as a matter of fact. AHHHH....good booze and the sultry voice of Helen Forrest!!!

What I found most disappointing was that none of the major networks listed him in their years end 'notable' passings. Talk about a HUGE oversight! He will be missed, but at least we still have him on our record players for years to come. Regards. Michaelson
