Ario Morini, an 82 year old tailor still active in Italy.
Began his apprenticeship at 9 because of his interest in a girl.
Eventually drafted into the infantry. Captured by Germans, and put to work making uniforms & tailoring suits for german officers.

An excellent article.

It never ceases to amaze me the extraordinary lives people of that generation lead. It also brings to mind my idea of people as unique libraries with catalogues of information and experiences. And once they depart, it all goes with them. If you met this gentleman, you would have know idea of his life's experiences, except maybe the resonance in his eyes.
