Anyone Ever Heard of This Brand??

I bought this for my son. It is a Puerto Fino. I guess it is cheap enough, but I was just curios about the maker. I had never heard of it before. The sweat in his Worser is in poor condition(I guess the age and the way he sweats when he plays was just to much for it) so rather than spending the money to have it fixed I bought him this one. Check it out and let us know what you think.

Puerto Fino

The brand Puerto Fino is still currently available and I know that our sponsor, Besdor (Bencraft Hats) carries them. They are about $100 for the current fedoras.

I own one and was not nuts about its too carboard-like felt.
I sprayed it with one of the rainproof sprays and now use it in poor weather, and it has held up well in many a drizzle.

They are manufactured in Colombia, and are the only entry level fur felt hat I know of with the lining sewn in rather than use hot glue.

We used to sell them in my friends shop in SF on Haight street. As I recal lthey wer a prett ydecent quality for the price and for what you can get today.

I think they were rabbit fur felt.

I never got one as I was a decent head size for vintage. I thought the crowns wer a little short for my taste, but that was the particular one we carried.

Certainly not a cheapie like a wool felt new york hats or something like that.

Love the color.

We used to get a laugh out of the name, as it is a copy of Porto Fino.

I almost bought one a while back. It was a Puerto Fino Roll-up. It seemed very well made and had extremely soft felt. The open crown could be easily shaped and reshaped by hand. It actually came with a can that it fit into when rolled up. I didn't buy it because the only color available was navy. I didn't need a navy blue hat at that time, but I'm reconsidering now.

My ACES HIGH IRVIN size 46 Long. The 46 chest fitted more like a 44 so Go Big. I also went long. 29" The Zippers are cheap foreign metal. The Tape seams and back of collar are horsehide for some reason. The collar fastener is thinner than standard and also horse. The Belt loops are too wide. Its a Very good Jacket let down by a few silly things. Given that these are now £1200.00 I would go for Eastman next time. Better zips and certainly an equal jacket. I will post pics later. Jon at Aces High was helpful.
