Another new Herbert Johnson

Greetings all!

Yesterday was a good day. Not only did I go for a hot towel shave, but my wife surprised me with a new Herbert Johnson fedora.

It is the same model as my only other hat - a Gloucester - however this one has a lining. It is a size smaller (59 instead of 60), and such the brim isn't so wide. It is a nice, rich brown colour and has a slightly darker brown ribbon.

I guess she got tired of hearing me moan about how the grey fedora doesn't go with everything!

Anyway, here are a few quick pics I took today to show the two hats...

The grey one has no lining, as you can see, although it is the same model. There is also a loose thread that I have been meaning to cut!

There is something that still cool about seeing that Herbert Johnson liner. It is from my Indiana Jones days when everbody lusted an HJ....and there was something like a six month wait. Very few guys were willing to shell out the three c-notes for them either.
