Another kind of vintage...

At first glance this may not appear to be what it is...

But it is not a deceased hamster. No, it's a "vintage" muskrat fur hat I won on the place where low prices spiral out of sight near the end of the auction, and yet I won it so I'm just fine with it. I've become interested in collecting vintage winter headware, not surprising since I live in Michigan where we used to refer to our state as a "Winter Wonderland" on the license plates when I was a kid. Anyone else have some vintage winter headgear they'd like to post? It's a form of vintage headgear you see in films, etc.

I can tell you it only cost $31 and burned up the last of my Christmas/Birthday money. And when I get it, I plan on posting some shots. I'm hoping it will be a good approximation of the fur hats frontier US Army troops wore in the late 1800s during winter. Then all I'll need is a late 1800s pattern five button navy blue uniform coat to go with it, maybe some white stripe blue trousers, appropriate foot wear, etc. Probably won't get beyond the coat.

Its interesting that no one ever "buys" there. We "win" everything.
