Holy cow. I don't know. I think it is my vintage MacLaughlan Silver Beaver 50, in rusty chocolate brown. Second is the same make in delicious dove/silver gray. Both are true '40's hats. I have posted pic's before, they may be out of photobucket.
My newest favorite is the gray Manhattan that Art made for me, seconded by his Midnight blue, and the one in vintage (peach color).
Tonight I am wearing my Cavanagh 40's soft brown with the Bogart crease. I love this hat. It is like a pair of comfortable shoes...the felt is dense and smooth, and flawless. I love the Cavanagh edge.
Oh, I forgot my straws. I LOVE my OPTIMO Montecristi Panama Super Fino's. I wear a straw every day in our California warm weather. In the SF Bay Area, you can find yourself wearing a felt from October to June. We do get fog. Then the climate warms in August, Sept., and October. Strictly straws.
So, lots of typing...still didn't answer the question: What is my favorite hat?
If all were stolen, but one, which would I rejoice of having retained?
Hummmm.....
My Resistol Blue Gray vingate/ Cavanagh Brown/ Silver Beaver 5o's.
SEE....I can't say!!!
Oh, my top hat for formal occasions...oh, then the Milan Straw....lol
