I recently sent my Aero steerhide jacket which is a cheyene / highwayman hybrid back to Aero, as I lost about 6" from my waist and 1.5 from my chest and it just didnt fit quite right anymore, even with the straps cinched all the way in. I like my jackets to fit somewhat loose, but this was just too much.
I also found that the cotton drill over and alpaca lining was not nearly as warm as I had expected. So, Will suggested he put sheepskin in the body that would take up about 1.5" all the way around and then taper the jacket another 4" allowing it to fit perfectly. I thought it was a great idea.
Im also having the immense collar (my design flaw) reduced by about 3".
Anyway, I figured I would just throw it out there if anyone else runs into the problem of either owning an aero jacket that becomes to big, or buying one used that is slightly too big. I cant wait to see what it looks like when finished.
I didnt ask about the price or how long it would take...I didnt want to know on both accounts lol.
