"Marine wife is the toughest job in the Corps."

I first heard that when a disabled Vietnam Marine veteran said that to me.

I just want to thank VintageJess and other military family members who may be reading this. I know how challenging it can be to be married to the military (most of you know my husband is out of the USMC now). Fathers, mothers, siblings, anyone who has family serving, thank you for your service!

Let me second that. My brother was career army (retired). His career exacted a heavy toll on marriage. If I have a question about what any part of the country is like, I just ask him. There were also many years in (then) West Germany spent waiting for the Soviet Army to come streaming into Europe.

Here's high praise and applause for military families!

What a very nice thread. I'd like to say thank you too. You are all appreciated greatly, and in my thoughts.
Up until now, my entire family was military. Grandfathers, uncles, all US Army, and my Dad was USAF. My mom was a USAF wife, she traveled everywhere my dad went, Guam, Korea, Kansas (obviously the most exotic location) even with an infant in her arms. I know the strength that she had to have to endure that, and I admire you all for the strength that you have.
